It all started by the encounter with an acoustic engineer.
AdPower improves airflow in car and motorbike engines, and AdPower Sonic was born after meeting Mr. Morimoto, a chief recording engineer at avex inc. and a long-time AdPower fan.
The project started when Mr. Morimoto asked if AdPower could be adapted for acoustic use. After attaching the car version to a studio speaker’s bass-reflex port and hearing the dramatic improvement in sound quality, the idea for AdPower Sonic took shape.

For speakers with a bass reflex port, the best placement is directly on the port where airflow occurs. Improving airflow reduces air resistance and delivers clearer, more detailed sound.
If your speaker has multiple ports, apply AdPower Sonic evenly to each one.
For sealed speakers without a bass reflex port, place AdPower Sonic on the baffle surface near the speaker unit. The optimal position varies by speaker design, so test several locations and choose the one that sounds best. In some cases, additional improvement can be achieved by applying it to the baffle surface even after placing one on a bass reflex port.
“AdPower Sonic” applies the patented static electricity reduction technology originally developed for the AdPower automotive series.
Sound source analysis by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) showed that attaching it to speakers tends to increase Interaural Cross-Correlation (IACC).
What is IACC.
Abbreviation for Inter Aural Correlation Coefficient, an indicator of sound spread (diffusivity).
Impulse response and sound source analyses were performed using Genelec 8020C and YAMAHA MS101III speakers in an anechoic room, a soundproof room, and a living room. No difference was observed in the anechoic room, but in the soundproof room and living room, AdPower Sonic consistently showed a tendency to increase IACC. This trend was confirmed across five sound sources—including jazz, classical, and natural sounds—with no variation between them.

Analysis conducted at the Acoustics and Signal Processing Labs of Ritsumeikan University showed that reverberation tends to increase in the low-frequency range (250–500 Hz), while at 125 Hz it tends to decrease.
These results suggest that listeners may perceive “tighter bass” and “clearer sound localization and definition.”

If you find the rectangular Sonic Series too powerful or if you prefer to fine-tune your sound quality, we recommend trying the more compact Hexagon S and SS sizes.
As with the existing Sonic product series, users can enjoy searching for their favourite sound by changing the place of application, and with colour variations suitable for fitting easily into brass instruments and other items, the new product looks even more stylish and can be customised more freely.
Hexagon is also recommended for small Bluetooth speakers, Amazon Alexa, soundbars, and more.
Producer Akimitsu Honma, who has provided, arranged and produced music for many artists including Porno Graffitti and Ikimono-gakari, shares his impression on using AdPower Sonic.
